Coffee table books are something I held off on presenting to my clients as they can be so very time consuming to put together. The past few months I've made an effort to show sample albums to clients and Im still a bit shocked by how many of my clients are ordering them! They have proven to be an excellent addition to my price list.
I've had a few requests from people to create an album suitable for a family photo session. It was something I definitely needed to add to my own line-up so I went right to work on creating one. My goal in designing this album was to create something timeless. Using clean lines and a mix of fonts and phrases I feel I've done just that...created an album that won't look dated in a few years time. This is important as I want my clients to cherish their book for many years to come!
This 20-page 10x10 coffee table style book comes complete with photo clipping masks which means assembling the album will be a breeze. Simply copy and paste the images into the photo area, resize and it's done. All pages are saved in layers so all text, fonts are completely customizeable.
**Please Note: These books were originally created to print through Asuka. WHCC COFFEE TABLE BOOK instructions are available.**

On these family templates, is the text able to changed or taken out completely if you don't want it? Thanks!

I'm wondering how images this template can accommodate?

Love it--bought it and just offered it to my client--she called me within 10 minutes and wants to buy one!
Wondering if you might have anything for a baby shower? I just shot one and I'd love to offer them something like this but the baby isn't born yet and the baby book seems more geared towards the actual baby portraits. I'd love one that celebrated woman, traditions, laughter and love. Maybe neutral colors for a boy or girl (in case they aren't finding out). And of course if they know it's a boy or girl those color schemes would be nice as well. Just a thought for ya! Thank you!

Yes...the text can be changed or taken out completely. The template holds about 20-30 images. And Katie, thank you so much for the suggestions! I will definitely keep that in mind.
Thanks!

do you have recommendations for vendors that publish the books?
Posted by: kelly | February 09, 2008 at 03:50 PM
Kelly-
The books can be printed as is through Asuka Book. Otherwise you can easily crop the to fit with other labs such as WHCC, ACI, or Blurb. If you have questions on how to prepare the files to print through a vendor other than Asuka please let me know.

Hey Jamie- Wanting to buy your templates for asuka books....but I am new to book making. Do your templates account for the 1/2 gutter? Also....Have you used these templates with WHCC>? Thanks,
jen

Jen-
Yes, the templates do account for the 1/2 page gutter. To upload my templates with WHCC you will need to do the following:
1) Complete the template according to the instructions and flatten.
2) Set your crop tool to 10.25 in x 10.25 in at 300 dpi.
3) Click on view 4) Crop from the outer edge to the middle blue line.
5) Save each page individually.
6) Upload to WHCC.
Hope that helps!

Hello!
Everything you have is beautiful! I don't know where to start buying first:)
If I purchase the family book and get "Asuke Books" to print it do I do anything to the pages other than add my images and possibly alter text?
Would I simple look up "Asuka" on the net & upload the finished files to them?

Jamie,
I recently purchased the family album and LOVE it! However, after assembling the whole thing it took a long time (and I'm not sure I did it correctly) to convert the pages to the WHCC hinged paper 10x10 book. Is it possible for you to offer your products WHCC hinge paper ready??
I love your style and clean design and want to purchase other book designs but I'm hesitant.

Hi Kate-
I'm glad you like the book. The Family Book was actually created before WHCC started offering hinged books. Because the hinged books are exact squares (the pages are 9.825 x 10.25) my designs so far don't work well for the hinged books. They are much better suited to print as coffee table books through WHCC, ACI, or Asuka Book. I do plan to create hinged book templates in the future.
Thanks!
Jamie
